Frequently Asked Questions (Paratransit)
Processing applications can take up to 21 days. If you know you'll need paratransit on a specific day, we advise you submit your application in advance to allow for processing time.
Paratransit riders are certified for a maximum of three (3) years at a time. To keep access to B-Line Paratransit, please fill out another application. One can be mailed to you if you call (530) 809-4616.
You can schedule a ride 1-7 days in advance of your trip. If you call same-day, trips are offered only if there is space available. Same day trips cost $6.00.
We keep track of all cancellations and reasons for cancellations. If we notice you have a pattern of scheduling rides and cancelling them, we will reach out to see what's going on. This can cause a lot of strain on our scheduling system and be a hindrance for drivers and other passengers. For more information, see please read our Paratransit Policies.
We will need to see the card in person at our office on Huss Drive in Chico in order to fix it. This can be done in person between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or by mail. If mailed, include your contact information, a note describing the card's issue and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. We'll mail back the appropriate replacement as soon as it's fixed. Cards can be mailed to:

Butte Regional Transit does not offer any program for reduced fares.
Yes, we need the entire application. HIPAA gives your doctor's office permission to talk to us at B-Line about your specific disability and how that affects your functional mobility.
You are able to bring on as many bags as you (and your PCA) can safely stow on the bus and remove from the bus in one trip. If you need help from the driver to get your bags to your destination, they can help you with a reasonable number (i.e., how much they can safely take in one trip from the bus to the door). Please remember the bus driver cannot leave the line of sight of the vehicle, or go through doorways.
Service animals are always allowed on the bus. Pets and other animals are allowed as long as they're in a secured cage. Disruptive behavior from any animal is not allowed. B-Line follows the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations (FTA 49 CFR - Section 37.3, Section 37.167(d)) on the definition of a service animal. A transit employee may ask two questions: (1) is the animal a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the animal been trained to perform.
