About B-Line

Butte Regional Transit (B-Line) is Butte County's regional public transit system. Riders can use B-Line to travel locally in Chico, Oroville, Paradise, or to travel between communities throughout Butte County. With a simple fare structure and transfer policy, using transit in Butte County is easier than ever, and a great way to save on high gas prices. B-Line provides transit users with the Plan My Ride tool - powered by Google Transit. These tools allow trip planning, schedule updates and real-time bus locating.

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)

B-Line has studied Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) needs in Butte County to understand feasible solutions/alternatives for individuals not qualifying for ADA or Dial-a-Ride service. The study defined the types and extent of need in consideration of responsive and cost-effective service models through stakeholder input and engagement. It concluded with an Action Plan for moving forward the preferred Butte County NEMT alternative(s). The study was completed mid-2022 and can be found here: NEMT Action Plan

Microtransit

Through the completion of a routing study, B-Line is developing a new service called Microtransit.  Microtransit is generally defined as a "flexible" public transit option. Microtransit allows agencies like Butte Regional Transit to offer riders an on-demand option that fits somewherein between fixed route and dial-a-ride services.  Like many counties in the northern parts of California, rural development encompasses much of the regions area that can be difficult to serve with fixed route or dial-a-ride services.  The service works much like UberPOOL or Lyft Line, but it utilizes publicly owned transit vehicles ranging in size from full size coach transit buses to smaller 8-10 person vans.
